REACT

Mob Earman - Artist Website in React

This microsite for my new art venture, Mob Earman, is my first React website, with useState, multiple components and implementation of scalable data structure.I'm looking forward to implementing THREE.js to bring the colourful 3d artwork further into life.

Adventure Game - The One Who Walks The Void

With 100 scenes, around 300 text path options and self-made music and animation, this passion project was completed in a week as a part of the _nology programme. It is the clearest evidence I have that I go above and beyond to challenge myself, grow and complete work I can be proud of.

SNAP
Terminal Game

A simple game of snap, but played in the Java terminal: this was a _nology 1-week project that helped cement principles of OOP and writing classes and methods in Java. The game runs on pressing enter until a card match appears, then type SNAP within 2 seconds to win!

Full Stack Lyric Search

A full stack project completed as a team during my time with _nology. The RESTful API has two get mappers, a post map and delete map, allowing for us to create a cool little 'search by lyrics' app. This was a great collaborative experience where we learned an a lot front-back-end communication.

Dynamic Work Timer

My first ever JS project! I created it as a way of keeping time in an interesting way when remote working and tracking hours to submit. It has a retro style, unique features and a way to export your data into a CSV. I plan to expand it in future to hide other games in the code!

Things Made Public: "Our Work" Page

My first freelance project: I assisted in media management, cleaning up and updating files using wordpress, and providing accessibility audit details to help optimise and trouble shoot design details before launch day.

About Me

With dev competition high, I aim to bring a new spirit and perspective to the field. My story began in balancing creativity with mundanity: managing data, emails and staff by day, pouring energy into music & design passion projects by night.

After some soul searching, I aimed to bring my proficiency with systems and my love for innovative ideas into one career path. Somehow, software engineering became the clear answer. After coding solo for a year, I realised I was really enjoying myself, and took the next step to grow with the _nology programme.

Along with hard-earned technical skills, my soft skills have grown organically from an adventurous curiousity in early career life. My communication skills I attribute to pushing out of my comfort zone, with everything from a degree in Modern Drama to four months teaching in a rural village in Indonesia. I owe my adaptability to working in multiple fast paced administration roles, whilst freelancing and juggling a music career. My innovation shows through my dedication to bringing problem solving ideas to life, for example, making training animations for the archiving dept in London South Bank University, or bringing musical childrens' book readings to Bukit Lawang to encourage dynamic learning.

I am now dedicated to bringing this wealth of energy and experience to a software development role. Knowing myself, my aptitude for learning and future goals, I can't wait to start on this new chapter.
